Weekly Schedule:
McKinley Library is open from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM Monday through Wednesday. A sign will be posted on the door when it is closed due to meetings. Students visit the library once a week with their class. Library books are checked out and returned the following week. Overdue books may be returned any time during library hours. Lost or damaged books must be replaced or paid for.

Book Club:
Every Wednesday morning at 8:00 AM students are invited to attend Book Club. Children gather together to read and discuss a book. We generally get through one chapter a week. We have raffles and a snack afterward. All ages are welcome!
Fundraisers:
McKinley Library has fundraisers throughout the year. We are raising money for library renovation and to improve our library collection. we are currently receiving no money from the state to improve our library collection. The PTA and the BAC have been finding ways to supplement these funds.
We have two book fairs every year during Back-To-School Night and Open House. Thirty percent of the profits go to the library. This is a great opportunity to purchase gift books for your child and support the library.
We are also going to have used book sales, bake sales and other events throughout the year.
Library Committee:
Last year (2004) we formed a McKinley Library Committee to begin renovating our library. We are currently looking for sponsors from the community to help our vision plan come true. If you would like to join the committee, please contact Heather Lowe, Library Coordinator at 828-5011, x 144. All parents and interested community members are welcome!
Books for the Library:
To purchase a book for our library, you simply go to www.amazon.com and click on the tab that says Wish Lists near the top of the window. Then type in Heather Lowe and look for our list under McKinley Library. The school address is in the account so you can either ship it directly to the school or have it shipped to you to bring to the library. I will continue to refresh the list as soon as 50% of the books are purchased.
